Ancient Greece Scrapbook Project.
This project consists of 10 activities.
Activity 1. Map of the World
Show where the ancient civilization existed. 1. Label the map neatly.
2. Highlight or colour the map neatly.
Activity 2 Map of Greece
A close up map of the ancient civilization. 1. Label a close up map of the region.
2. Be sure that the map is neatly done. Printing should be of high quality. It is expected. that your spelling is correct.
Activity 3 Timeline
Establish a timeline of important events in Ancient Greek history. You should have at least 10 important
events and show an understanding of B.C.and A.D. times.
Activity 4 Greek Society
Draw and label neatly a hierarchy ladder (power structure) of Ancient Greek Society. Demonstrate the
roles of men, women, children and slaves in the ancient civilization. You could demonstrate this learning by writing a series of jot notes, drawing pictures, a staircase poem or writing a story.
Activity 5 Demonstrating the Physical Needs
Find information about how people met their physical needs (food, shelter, water, clothing). Present this . information in a pleasing way. You may want to draw or trace pictures, use jot notes, write poems, stories or letters. You should include the 4 basic needs and include 3 examples for each need.
E.G. Food .
1. explain what kind of food was eaten in this civilization
2. explain how the food was prepared
3. explain how the food was eaten ( with the hands, chopsticks, utensils, etc.)
Activity 6 Demonstrating Social Needs
Find information about how people met their social needs (transportation, communication, politics, education and religion) Present this information in a pleasing way. You may want to draw or trace pictures, use jot notes, write poems, stories or letters. You should address 4 needs and give 3 examples for each need. .
E.G. Politics .
1. explain how people governed themselves
2. explain how declsions were made
3. explain how people came to be leaders
Activity 7 Demonstrating the Psychological Needs
Find infornation about how people met their psychological needs (entertainment., music, theatre, speech,
debate, sports, games, burial practises, etc) Present this information in a pleasing way. You may want to draw or trace pictures, use jot notes, write poems, stories or letters. You should address at least 4 needs and include 3 examples of each. .
E.G. Sport
1. explain what sport people took part in
2. explain who participated
3. explain where and how often they participated in this sport
Activity 8 The Ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses
Include an art and or writing activity about the major gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece.
Activity 9 Bonus Marks
Other interesting infornation. - Include any other interesting infonnation that you would like to share
about this ancient civilization. .
Activity 10
A summary of the influence Ancient Greek Society had on the Modern World
Using essay, letter, jot notes and or art to summarize the major influences of Ancient Greece Society on our Society today.
